The key to good SEO practice aside from the many white hat SEO techniques is making sure that your site is in a good neighborhood. What it means is that your site should comply with Google’s requirements pertinent to linking. For Google, a link is regarded as a vote for the site it points to.   • Poorly Written Content. This may be a little harder to detect, but it is best that you don’t place your content next to a site with poorly written contents.

Characteristic of a good neighbor website include but is not limited to:

  • Has relevant content publication to the niche you serve.
  • Websites that contain the following extensions: .edu, .gov and .org sites.
  • The website has good content and uses correct grammar.
  • Advertisements may be visible but limited.
  • Links or anchor text used is pointed to authority sites.
